Gluk’oZа: when love dies 

Gluk’oZа has filmed a music video for the new song «Without You», the lyrics for which were written by the soloist of the SEREBRO group Olga Seryabkina, and the music by Maxim Fadeev. 

The composition, which saw light in the beginning of September, turned out to be extremely emotional and genuinely autobiographical. In it, Natalia told us the story of her first love, inspired to this bold move by an unexpected meeting that happened to the singer this past summer. As she was awaiting her flight in the airport, Gluk’oZa met a man, with whom she had had a romantic relationship many years ago. In just an instant, the recollections in her soul were all brought back to life, the ups and downs of that complicated relationship resurfaced in her memory, and all the pain that her loved one once caused her was revived. His jealousy, his groundless allegations, her attempts to prove that her frequent absences were all just the work, the tours and nothing more, and in her soul, as always, there is still only him. And as a result – a broken heart. Gluk’oZa told Maxim Fadeev and her close friend Olga Seryabkina about this accidental meeting and virtually immediately the creative tandem produced a lyrical composition, under the title «Without You». Shooting a music video for the song wasn’t part of the plan, just as its release wasn’t meant to happen so precipitately – only one week after the release of the track itself. But the endless inspiration that was inspired by this accidental meeting, didn’t leave any member of Maxim Fadeev’s Production Center indifferent. It was decided to proceed with the shooting as soon as Gluk’oZa gets back from her vacation. The creators of the video opted out using the trendy mini-movie format and instead chose to re-create the singer’s love story on the screen in more depth. They chose only certain fragments of the memories – the most gripping and emotionally charged moments. «Anger, resentment and jealousy – those are the feelings that are able to kill even the strongest and most tender love, and we wanted to tell about them», - the creators of the music video say. When does love die? Natalia and her partner were able to express this moment in the most authentic way. Gluk’oZa acted out the romantic scenes in bed with fascinating acting skills. Still under the effect of the accidental meeting, the actress would occasionally get so carried away with her acting that she would start crying. However, because it was decided not to turn the video into a tragic film about a desolate love story, the operator had to turn off the camera, and the director had to calm the actress down. 

But the greatest trial awaited the entire film crew when they began to film the street scenes – according to the storyline, Gluk’oZa’s heroine is chasing her loved one and trying to make up with him in front of all the passersby. «These scenes were filmed with a hidden camera, - tells the singer, - Yes, of course, we could have invited a crowd, chosen some deserted alleyway and calmly filmed several takes of our scandals and reconciliations, but we wanted to attain the most genuine representation possible. Every person who has been in love at least once in his life is familiar with this situation – when you are fighting with your loved one amidst the crowd. And we wanted to re-create this accurately by surrounding ourselves not with fake actors, but actual passersby with their unfeigned emotions. And it turned out just incredibly! I didn't even think that there were so many genuinely indifferent people around. Seeing how the main character is yelling at me and even raising his arm in an attempt to hit me, they would try to stop him, would take me by the hand, bring me aside and say: «What in God’s name did you say to him? Why is he yelling at you like that?». Or they would just give advice: «Girl, leave him and run, while it’s not too late». The young men wanted to implement their fists to explain to my partner how wrong he was. Obviously, I calmly explained to everyone with a smile that everything is under control, that we are just shooting a video and we are really friends. But in the depth of my soul I was really amazed. We have such compassionate people here! 

«I wanted to film a music video, which would be as genuine as possible and would convey the feelings that now reign in my soul with ruthless accuracy, - said Gluk’oZa, - I hope that I was able to achieve it. And I will be very happy if my story will find resonance with the romantic feelings in the viewers’ souls».
